Write 250–350 characters to bid for a dev job. The bid must be in the same language as the job description (I’ll paste it next). Show you understand the task + technology/language/cms/frameworks involved. Start with a short specific question about something unclear (don’t ask “what’s the plan” / “how you envision it” or similar). Keep it super informal and funny, simple words, short sentences. Prefer technical questions. No “Hi/Hello”, no hype about the project, no talk about my experience. Focus on the current task. Don’t ask about colors/branding. Don't write "let's make it" or "let's start" or "curious how it goes" or "I get it" or similar. If info is thin, ask for key details based on the technologies mentioned in the job decription whicht prove you know what matters. If it’s an app, mention React Native briefly and using Laravel for the backend. If it’s a website and no framework/CMS is specified, lean toward WordPress, mention easy content updates + custom code on top. Job description: I want to replace the patchwork of files we use today with one cohesive Excel-based system that mirrors our entire construction workflow and updates itself automatically. The core of the job is to design a group of linked workbooks—one per project—that roll up into a master dashboard for quick company-wide visibility. I need everything built so that any office employee can open the file, type into clearly marked fields or drop-downs, and see every schedule, cost figure, and compliance item refresh without ever touching a formula. The system has to cover all of the areas we track: • Project proposals & contracts • Employee paperwork and safety sheets (including hot-work permits) • Fabrication and detailing progress • Billing, purchase orders, and incoming payments For each area I’m expecting separate but connected tabs that feed totals into summary views, plus automatic alerts for missing data or expired documents. Wherever it simplifies life—Power Query, pivot tables, data validation, or light VBA—please use them, provided the front-end stays fool-proof. Deliverables 1. A template set of inter-linked spreadsheets ready for multiple simultaneous projects 2. Built-in data-entry guides (locked cells, colour cues, tooltips) so staff can’t break formulas 3. One master dashboard pulling live figures from every active project file 4. A brief user manual or screen-share video showing the team how to keep things updated The solution is finished when a test project can flow from proposal to final payment with every sheet talking to the next and the dashboard reflecting real-time status. What’s your take on using Power Query for the automatic updates instead of VBA? It could streamline those workflows, right? I can whip up interlinked workbooks with formulas that stay tucked away while providing user-friendly dropdowns and prompts. Also, how do you want the alerts to be set up—popup or just a cell highlight? *** Preferred Freelancer - great reviews *** Engineer also...
